Hi there! My name is Yifan Xiong. I’m a PhD student in the department of Biological Chemistry (BC) at UC Irvine, School of Medicine (SOM). Advised by Prof. Wei Li. A fun fact about my last name Xiong (熊), means “Bear” in Chinese. It feels like a special bond to be living in California (the bear🐻 flag state).

My Research Field

My research interests are now focus on precision medicine. Especially develop computational methods for liquid biopsies, specializing in the bioinformatics analysis of cell-free DNA (cfDNA) to uncover non-invasive biomarkers for disease monitoring and early detection.

Furthermore, I am committed to promoting open, collaborative, and reproducible scientific research.
